From Research to Runway

Why National Jewish Health Matters to Me (and to Denver)

If you’ve been following Kiki’s Guide, you know how much I value highlighting the places, people, and events that make Denver special. Today I want to introduce an organization that holds a big place in my heart: National Jewish Health (NJH).

NJH is a world leader in respiratory and immune research, right here in Denver, changing lives every day. And if you’ve never been to their annual fundraiser, Rev the Runway, it’s one of Denver’s most glamorous, electric, and meaningful nights out.

Why This Matters to Me 💙

My journey with NJH started years ago. I’ve served on the Young Professionals Board (5280 Air Society), chaired their annual fundraiser, and for the past eight years I’ve been part of the committee behind Rev the Runway.

Year after year, I’ve seen how this hospital’s work touches families not only in Colorado but around the world. Supporting NJH isn’t just a passion project for me — it’s a way to give back to a community resource that literally saves lives.

What National Jewish Health Does 🌍

NJH is consistently ranked as one of the top respiratory hospitals in the nation. Their doctors and researchers focus on lung disease, allergies, autoimmune conditions, and immune disorders.

What I love most is their nonprofit mission: everything they do is centered on care, education, and groundbreaking research. Even if you’ve never stepped foot inside NJH, their work has likely touched your life. Their clinical trials and discoveries ripple out worldwide — shaping treatments for asthma, COPD, long COVID, and so much more.

Morgridge Academy: A School Like No Other 🏫

Tucked right on the NJH campus is Morgridge Academy, a free school for children living with chronic illnesses.

Imagine being a kid who wants nothing more than to learn and play — but your health needs make a traditional classroom impossible. Morgridge Academy gives these children a safe place to thrive. Teachers and medical staff work hand-in-hand so that students don’t just get an education — they get the care and confidence they need to feel like kids again.

The Power of Research 🔬

Another reason NJH inspires me is their commitment to research and clinical trials.

Breakthroughs made here in Denver become new treatments across the globe. It’s one of those things that makes me so proud of our city — we’re not just home to mountains, great food, and outdoor adventure, we’re home to medical innovations that literally save lives.

Rev the Runway: Fashion Meets Philanthropy 👠

Now, let’s talk about the event that brings it all together: Rev the Runway.

📍 Mercedes-Benz of Denver (940 S Colorado Blvd)
🗓️ Wednesday, November 5, 2025
6:00–10:00 PM

For one night only, Mercedes-Benz of Denver transforms into a high-fashion venue where Neiman Marcus puts on an incredible runway show. Think: glamorous looks, Denver’s most stylish crowd, and an atmosphere that buzzes with energy.

And the food? Our restaurant partners are some of the best in the city: Eddie V’s, Le Bilboquet, Le Colonial, Ocean Prime, Safta, Birdcall (after-party), Sushi by SYC, Blossom by SYC, and La Loma. 🥂

It’s the perfect mix of luxury, fun, and philanthropy.

Why You Should Come (Especially If It’s Your First Time)

I’ve been lucky to be part of Rev the Runway since its very first year, and I can honestly say: there’s nothing else like it in Denver.

The people-watching alone is worth the ticket — but what makes it truly special is knowing that every dollar raised goes right back to support NJH’s mission, Morgridge Academy, and life-changing research.

This is the kind of night you’ll talk about all year long.

Join Us 💌

If you’ve never been, I would love for you to experience it this year. Grab your partner, your girlfriends, your coworkers — whoever loves a good night out for a great cause.

When Denver shows up, research moves forward, children thrive, and lives are changed. And that, to me, is something worth dressing up for. 💃✨
